Essays On Higher Education

This book is a compilation of essays written by college students from different backgrounds for courses taught by I.M. McCall, Esq. at U.C.L.A. These essays speak of personal experiences with higher education in the United States. The purpose of sharing these stories is to inspire marginalized, neglected, and undocumented youth to own their dreams, create a path, and speak out about the need for education reform in their communities for an equal opportunity to compete in society.The images in this book are part of a larger collection of archived photographs by I.M. McCall, Esq. (LAwtina M.O.M.). The project of documenting certain murals, people, propaganda, advertising, streets, culture, food, folklore, community, environment, art, music, and rhetoric, began as a personal journey to tell a story of the neglected education, children, women, and men, in specific neighborhoods in Los Angeles. The collection seeks to document the history, art, music, folklore, environment, education, and community of marginalized neighborhoods in Los Angeles.For every book purchased, 50% of proceeds will be donated to various non-profit organizations working directly with inner-city youth in specific neighborhoods in Southern California, and non-profit legal services organizations working directly with undocumented communities.
