Official synopsis Publisher

I walked, paddled, rode, and floated in the footsteps of Captain Meriwether lewis and Captain William Clark-all the way from Pittsburg, Pennsylvania top Seaside, Oregon. Over the course of the four years journey more than 300 men came and went, taking part in our quest of Discovery. We traveled over 8000 miles, exactly as the men of the Corp of Discovery did 200 years ago. We camped in the same locations on the same dates and saw many of the same sights. It was fantastic. On the way we met over half a million people who visited our keelboat replica and learned the history of the original Corp. We visited cities, towns, and villages that didn’t exist 200 years ago. Tales from the Rivers relates our adventures, our travails, our celebrations and our encounters with the people who now live along the rivers, and interweaves many of the similarities and differences between our expedition and the original Lewis and Clark Expedition of 1803 of the then newly purchased Louisiana Territory. We also knit botany, zoology, geology, geography, history, biographies, fossil collecting, and even general survival skills throughout the tales.
