A shopkeeper in a small town advises him to try the Pilot plantation. He lands on the sugarcane plantation to find out that it is ruled by a Baptist Patriarch. Quickly, he becomes enamoured with the characters of the plantation and they become equally fond of him. While gaining an extended family, it’s not long before Matt becomes plagued with big problems in his new environment. These difficulties include being framed for murder of a prominent citizen. Members from his biological family and a former lover surface from the East Coast to try to rescue him and to bring him home.
