When the baby bird hatches he is none the wiser — all he does know is that it has a very strange appetite indeed! One day, Duncan finds an enormous egg on the bed in his tree house. When it hatches he doesn’t recognise the bird inside from any of his books. He finds worms and caterpillars to feed it with, but it doesn’t seem to like them.
