All goes well until when she surfaces she discovers she is no longer in the world she’d woken in that morning. …and a price that she never anticipated having to pay. Still without a voice, she finds herself in a cursed kingdom being ravaged by the sea. With the waters rising, she must seek out answers if she has any hope of returning to the world she’d left behind. Doing so will pit her against pirates, sea creatures, and royalty with no way to know who is friend or foe – and she soon discovers that what she knew of the mermaid’s tale will be of little help to her here. There wasn’t anything about a crystal rose in the original story, after all… Mirielle will soon learn that some legends are far more real than she’d believed – and some happy endings aren’t written, but are forged in adversity. This little mermaid fights back.
