The trip is long and difficult, and he must get up early because the higher the sun rises, the hotter and dryer the sidewalk becomes. One day the paperboy sees Charlie working hard to cross the sidewalk and decides to help. Charlie is delighted. He only had to work half as hard to reach the front yard.
