This book store is a gem. There are so many great books in there that I wanted to buy them all. The atmosphere is inviting and comfortable. They had a Caterer in there selling Caribbean food and it was so delicious. I can't wait to return for more of that jerk chicken. I will be going back soon! I highly recommend Urban Reads Bookstore.
I visited this bookstore with one of my closest friends Saturday. The selection of book by black authors was great. Tia, the owner, is kind and welcomed us with a smile. I plan to return soon!
Beautiful, powerful space with so much packed into one bookstore. It's honestly much more than a bookstore, as it's a healing space and a haven of cultural refuge. The vibe throughout the space creates an immersive liberation through images and quotes from powerful voices in Black history. The owner is super down-to-earth and humble, and seems to just genuinely love people. I love the book selection in there because there's a little something for everyone. Outside of books, they have some body products like Shea butters and soaps, as well as some juices and snacks. Everything is reasonably priced and quality.
