Highlight of my Denver trip was a visit to this social activist bookstore/art gallery. Stationery, pens, letterpress prints and more to be discovered. In addition to the prints, some of the stationery products are made by the letterpress studio!
This is a magical corner of the universe – don't skip the print shop part. I've been twice now. The second time I stumbled into the print shop and was ushered into an impromptu and fascinating tour of the shop, printing, and found myself examining vintage and freshly created slugs (typesets) in the shop collection. Rick, the owner, was there, and invited me to make a print for myself. He's amassed thousands of slugs and tools, machines and gadgets, over thirty years. And he is more than happy to share his love of printmaking, collage, and books with you. We don't have many places like this anymore, anywhere. At least, not in the Midwest United States. You'd be sad if you skipped out. Come with an open mind, curiosity, and knowing that you'll meet new friends!
This is a must-stop for radical magical anticapitalist queer leftist freaks and everything in between 😘nnI loved chatting with everyone, especially Jasmin- her joy and passion is remarkable! I left with a unique and special stack of books and I wish I could spend even more hours exploring all the zines and thoughtfully curated merchandise.nnIf you want to support an indie shop and meet some really special humans, go here- a haven for artists, makers, learners. You belong here.
Incredibly Inclusive space with so many great books and stationary. Great space if you're looking to support an local shop in Denver💛
The girl who helped me was super cool and informative. They have zines. The collection there is “inclusive.” And the stationary setup was okay. Liked the pens for sure! Very cool that they store luggage for travelers. Layout was a little difficult. The actual book section was very closed off.
