Love of the written word permeates every corner of this bookstore, from their eclectic and well-curated selection to the medieval manuscript pastiche signage. The store was small, perfect for browsing without becoming overwhelmed by choice. Their used book prices were very reasonable, and their record selection was full of vintage gems in great condition. It's truly a book lovers bookstore!

Wow!! This is up there as one of the most well-curated, reasonably-priced, and inviting bookstores I’ve ever visited. Wonderful mix of used and new books, some cool records near the front, friendly staff, this place is like a wonderland. What an addition to the Chicago book-lovers community- can’t wait to visit again!

This place is the best! Amazing selection of new, used, and rare books at very reasonable prices. I love exploring new bookstores throughout the city and I am so happy this one opened in my neighborhood. This is definitely one of the best stores in the city for book-lovers.

For me, the best used bookstores have some sort of curatorial intent and it just so happens that Perpetual Books’ particular array of unique and intriguing titles about counterculture and philosophy and so much more matches my interests closely. One of the best bookstores in town and a must visit if you’re interested in oddball titles that will really turn on your mind.
