I love book stores and try to support independent ones every chance I get. Why I have never come across this one before surprises me for how many times I’ve been to Fremont. It is an amazing space to spend time in. It has a great feel to it with lots of great books. The employees were kind, friendly, and helpful. The upstairs kids book area is really a great place for kids with a low ceiling and a great stair case to climb. The spiral stairs to the basement were fun and added a great element to this store. If you’re looking for a good book please give Ophelia’s a try. I found two good Saul Bellow’s novels. Worth the trip.
Great variety of books and really cozy, welcoming vibes. Easy place to get lost browsing for a while. It is a small space fyi!nCute cat is a plus (always) 🖤
Ophelia's Books has a fantastic variety of used and new books, two adorable cats, a friendly staff, an interesting layout, and so much more!! I found three Agatha Christie novels that I'd been on the lookout for, a really interesting book about moths (and taking notice of the little things in life), and a collection of beautiful poems. I also got a cute bag and sticker featuring their cats!
Love this bookstore 🫶 very cozy vibes and the staff are really friendly. Tons of books of course, along with some cute handmade things. Kitties were the stars of the show!! Great place but it is pretty small and there are 2 staircases (one being a very narrow spiral) so it isn’t very accessible.
My partner and I visited from Florida and loved Fremont! This particular bookstore is a gem. They’re organized and have something for everyone. If you have children, definitely take them here, their selection upstairs is great and I think they’d love the bookstore cats too.nThose cats were so cute and friendly, I had to buy a couple magnets just to remember them by. (I only got an Arkady one but we will come back for Boris!)
