My Favorite Books

This bookstore felt like it connected with me in such a special way. I visited with my husband while I was in Tallahassee from Maryland, and even though they were in the middle of transitioning to a new location, the space still had a welcoming and peaceful vibe.nnSince it was Black History Month, I wanted to see what they had available. The collection was small during the move, but the books really stood out. Many looked brand new, and some were rare finds. I was honestly blown away to see Proud Shoes by Pauli Murray on the shelf. I had studied Pauli Murray in my Black Feminism class with Professor Imani Perry at Harvard, so finding that book there felt incredibly meaningful. Knowing it had once been banned made it feel like an even more powerful discovery. It truly felt like the book was waiting for me.nnThe owner was kind, friendly, and welcoming, and I appreciated the conversation we had about future inventory. I’m excited for their new location near Little Italy in Tallahassee.nnIf you love books, history, and meaningful finds, this is a wonderful place to visit. I left with a rare treasure and a lot of gratitude. Definitely one of my favorite bookstores.

Delicious tea. Best environment. Came for an art class for my daughter and got some work done as well on a comfy chair! Great interesting books and games all around!!! Come for a date or a chill time. Beautiful chess board as well….!

Absolutely delighted after coming here! The staff were very friendly. They were so helpful and made steps to ensure I felt comfortable about the book selection prices. They offered to work with me on getting the best price. So thrilled that such a cool bookstore exists! They helped me pick out a book and I’m glad I picked it up. I’m loving it so far. Will definitely come here again!

Found this place while passing through and I absolutely loved it!! There are so many amazing books to look through and the women that run the store are so wonderful. I left with so many books to read. I am SO excited. Can’t wait to come back!

I have been a regular here since I was a child. The helpful staff and the great prices are the highlight of the store. I love using the waitlist for books I’m looking for. Highly recommended.
