I had a very poor experience at this store. First, the store owner likes to talk a lot about his own interests (wasted an hour of my time) and make extremely exaggerated facts and claims like 60 million Persian speakers live in China (there are actually around 50,000, which you can easily look up).nOn top of that, he kept talking about politics and bragged about his participation in the 1979 revolution in Iran.nHe also sells history books that promote historical revisionism, which he actually recommends for casual readers. And one thing he doesn't list that you actually have to confirm is that his store only offers a 1 day exchange or return policy, essentially the day you buy it. He only takes payment via cash or mobile app as he wants to avoid paying credit card fees, and thus doesn't provide receipts. I tried to return a book I bought after 2 days, and he said he can't return it because it would be considered pre-owned, even though the book was not wrapped and didn't change condition. It was also a newly published book and not rare.nI tried to be fair and support a local bookstore, but I was met with very despicable business practices and poor moral character.nI highly recommend you spend your money somewhere else.
Great bookstore with variety of Persian books. The owner is very knowledgable and does beautiful calligraphy!
An amazing journey into the old and new Persian bookstore. An owner with true love for book and book reading. An art which is slowly disappearing in our socially. A real bookstore with the touch of personality. I would go back for sure and chat with the owner.
Excellent bookstore. The main owner is extremely knowledgeable, kind and sweet. Highly recommend this to all
I can’t stop smiling thinking about this store. This is what being an Iranian immigrant is all about. The store owner Mr. Valipour is was the best. Thoroughly knowledgeable on Persian literature and poetry (both classic and contemporary) and also had AMAZINGLY unique publications on Iranian Music.nnHe also has essentially every edition of dissident Iranian academic journals, dating back 40 years.nnHis love for Iranian history, literature and culture seeps through the walls of his store. Spending money here is a priveledge.
