this review isn’t against any of the staff or the location itself, as i think i would’ve had this experience at any location. i usually buy my books on ebay for around $3.50-$5.50, but this place is nice if you want to save money on books, games, puzzles, etc. and don’t want to pay for or wait on shipping. i brought these in to try and sell and was offered $3… that’s right, $3.00 – three, decimal, zero, zero. i’m aware the condition on many of them are “good” or “acceptable” (ALL the jigsaw jones books were in “like new” condition), but $3 is a little ridiculous – all for them to turn around and sell them all for $5-$6 apiece. i may as well donate them at the thrift store or shelter.

We are so lucky to have this hidden gem in our city. Located in Humble, Texas near Deerbrook mall this is one of the smaller Half Price Books locations. The flagship location is in Dallas. If you’re an Oregonian, think Powell’s but smaller. Like most commercial spaces in Texas you will find this store tucked between a Dollar Tree, an Urgent Care clinic and a Plato’s closet. They have books, vinyl, vhs, dvd’s, cd’s and cassettes. They buy and sell. They also have novelty items such as calendars, crafts, games, a rack of bookmarks for 49 cents each and a huge children’s section. My only complaint is that they can use new flooring and a bathroom remodel. They also offer a teacher discount 10 percent.

What a fantastic little hidden treasure! While everyone may be excited to visit the mall nearby and scoop up a new shiny book at B&N, please reconcider and think about spending the next bit of your free-time delving into this shop. HPB gives the vibes of a small-town library. Finding the entire series of your childhood books with the old art in-tact and pages that have previousily been worn through by its previous owner(s). You may even stumble upon one of the newer series as well of a few books you have been meaning to pick up- but with the stores name being another big bonus about this place. Collectors will love it here, and anyone who needs to spend a few hours getting lost finding books too ❤️

Lots of great deals. Awesome finds but don't expect much if you try and sell your books.

They have nice books here. I use to buy books here, but doing consignments with them is another thing. I bought 10 books (religious and political) in today. 7 religion books, thick paperback, for $1 all together. The others wasn’t accepted, understandable, but $1 for all?
