I've visited the store plenty of times and they have a good selection of books in Spanish, the service is good and the check out is fast. Unfortunately the cashier told us that they might be moving to another place but not far away so that's a plus. Will keep coming back to buy more books.
Girón Books is a hidden gem! From the moment I walked in, I felt the warm and welcoming atmosphere. I had the pleasure of speaking with Mr. Juan Manuel, who not only took the time to explain everything about the store but also engaged in a wonderful conversation about books and life. He truly went above and beyond to help me find the specific books I was looking for, showing a genuine kindness and understanding that is rare to find. The shelves are filled with a diverse selection, and you can tell that this place is run by people who really love what they do. I highly recommend Girón Books to anyone looking for a personal and enriching book-shopping experience. Can’t wait to visit again!
This is a great Spanish language book store in a quiet area of the Pilsen neighborhood. We needed books in Spanish for my spouse's curriculum for her students. Lots of interesting stuff, even science fiction by William Gibson and Neal Stephenson. The woman who ran the store was super nice and helpful, and they will accept a teacher's tax exempt purchases.
Pilsen's bookstore located right on 18th Street offers the avid reader a choice of best selling Latin American writers among them notable Mexican writers as well as a plethora of books translated from English to Spanish. The bookstore is small but offers great customer service in addition, the staff will kindly order any book you may need in Spanish. This is definitely the first stop for Spanish language books on the near west side.
Spanish Book store neatly tucked away in the Pilsen neighborhood, it once stood on 18th street next to the Jumping bean cafe for so many numbers of years. Now its on 21th street, With lots of Space to Grow! The staff is attentive and very friendly, some are natives to the Pilsen community. I miss growing up in Pilsen and this here is a hallmark to us.
