Incredible selection, rare books section is awesome but there are gems allllll over – And of course music too!
Really cute record and book store! Most books were priced fairly (paperbacks for ~10 or less), but i did find one that was being sold for more than what was on its original price tag (lol). Most of the books were organized on the shelves, but some were strewn around the store on various unlabeled shelves. Overall really solid selection of books and music, I’d totally come back 🙂
Fantastic neighborhood record & book store. Stock is priced really well. Picked up some fantastic 12” bargains. There's seperate sections for collectible records by genre, so ensure look all round. Also has tapes and even VHS.
Not understanding the high rating from other users. In regards to books, appeared to have more books about film and theater than most (if that's your thing), but overall this is only a decent selection and not easily browsed. Not close to being impressed by the record selection. I felt like I was in the used section of 5th and Charles. Staff never said a word to me (literally), but whatever.
This spacious store includes both records and books, but I only spent time browsing the book collection.nnTheir selection of philosophy spans about one segment of the floor to ceiling shelves in total and there is a lot available. You should expect to climb up on a ladder to access the top shelves.nnThe majority of the philosophy selection is made up of books which can be found fairly easily but they are all priced very reasonably. The large selection doesn’t have any particular focus, but you will likely find a few classics if you sort through everything. There were also a few nice hardcover copies of less commons books which were priced competitively. A few of the more interesting books were already pulled out and sitting on the shelf.nnCuriously there was a small secondary philosophy section in the upper shelves of one back corner, but it didn’t seem to contain much that couldn’t be found in the main section.nnOther sections were similarly full and although I didn’t spend too much time sorting through the fiction, it was clearly a broad selection.nnFinally, there was collection of small books and pamphlets on art and politics which had some rarities. These were hidden near the front, but were worth sorting through even if I wished there were more available. This bookstore is definitely worth visiting if you are in the area.
