I love a small independent book store!

OMG. I can't believe I've lived so close for over 5 years and only just now discovered Book Suey! A small, carefully curated selection of new and old books. Incredibly knowledgeable staff and customers, too. I was there for nearly two hours, mostly talking to other customers. The atmosphere is as warm and welcoming as the free coffee and tea. It truly felt like the safe haven that the best bookstores always do. If you're jonesing for an experience different from a big chain store, I would recommend this store most highly. And Hamtramck is such an interesting community, with lots of different food options within a 5 minute walk or less!

What a great bookstore! The owner/members are friendly and have excellent recommendations. There's a very good selection of graphic novels – I never visit without ending up buying at least one – and a solid sci-fi section, as well. Also well-curated books on social justice, and a section of local authors. Spend your book budget here!
