As a thriller and romance author, I’m always visiting Barnes & Noble for inspiration.nThe Barnes & Noble in Otay Ranch is huge and easily the ultimate cornucopia of books in the area. I believe this is one of the only stores, if not the only bookstore, left in the south part of San Diego.nnAs a thriller author, I always like to see what’s new and upcoming in my genre. As I continue to expand my universe of characters in the Grant Colson series, I’m hoping to do a signing here in the future.nnI love that they have different sections for mysteries and thrillers, fiction, romance, and more. They also have solid Spanish-language sections, which is really nice.nnThey also have an electronics section, a kids’ section, and an embedded Starbucks. The coffee area has plenty of tables, which is great for reading or working. The only downside to this location is parking. The main entrance is along a drive-through style mall with limited spaces, though a larger lot is a short walk away.nnThe staff was friendly and answered all of my questions.nnDefinitely will be back here.
As expected from Barnes & Noble, the store is spacious and beautifully organized.nIt’s filled with books across a wide range of genres, making browsing alone such a pleasant experience.nThe gift and stationery section is also well-curated, perfect for finding presents for friends who love reading. Overall, it’s an ideal place to spend a relaxing and peaceful time.
I was helped by Jacob when I was looking for a specific book, but unfortunately they didn't have it. He brought me to the section it would've been in so I could look around and we ended up having a nice conversation! He also helped me a newer section they put together to find books about California.nnThis store is always cleaned up pretty well and the sections are huge. I love how much manga and pop culture items they have in the store. The children's book section is also really nice and big.nnThey have good prices on books they have on sale and good deals throughout the year. Regular priced books are what you'd expect them to be: pretty pricey!nnRestrooms have a code available upon request of a customer service rep.
I went in to buy my 9yr old a scary book for Halloween. I asked a young lady for help. She was very attentive. She recommended books according to what I was looking for. She was friendly and pleasant to talk to. At the checkout was another young lady who was just as friendly. She got me to sign up for membership, no pressure and was a pleasure to deal with. Bravo on these 2 young stars.
We come here every so often to find books that are discounted. The deals are pretty good and the employees are generally nice and helpful if you are looking for something specific. Sometimes we like to grab coffees and pastries from the coffee shop inside and chill while we let the kids run around looking for books they want to buy!
