Smaller book store, but very good selection of philosophy. The curated books are all in great condition and hard covers with the dust jacket have been protected with plastic sleeves. The selection mostly includes works from important and recognizable philosophers in the continental tradition but there’s also a wide selection of primary sources from classic philosophers and a few important works from other traditions.nnMost importantly there is no useless filler. All the books available have been curated very nicely leaning towards books which aren’t available at every bookshop. The average price is higher because of the rarity of many of the books, but never overpriced for what you’re getting. The same all goes for the other sections especially literature, film, and poetry. This store is worth going out of your way to visit.
I stop in semi frequently to check in on their fiction titles. I love their curation and am always finding titles I haven’t heard of. Thankfully for me, they have a small selection of books about Chess. The book selection is always gorgeous and interesting.nnA quiet and low key spot worth visiting on the ever busier and busier Glendale Blvd.
This place is small but the selection absolutely rocks. I came in intending to browse, but every title in the literature section was such a banger I ended up buying 4 books. This is possibly the most tastefully stocked bookstore I’ve been to in all of Los Angeles. Keep up the good works, folks. I’ll be back soon.
Pretty cool and curated selection, however, they claim to “always be buying books” and it’s simply not true. Only specific people on staff are allowed to purchase the books and they are rarely there. If you are coming here to sell any of your books, call first. Can also confirm the other reviews pointing out that the customer service is also pretty lack luster.
The guy working here had the nastiest attitude. So bad that my friend who brought me warned me about him before we went in. Did not make me inspired to buy any books even though the selection was okay.
