He never lived on Former Earth, he was born on Artificial Earth. What he knows about Former Earth, he learned it at the downtown library. When trying to explain his pupils the differences between our former and artificial planet, he soon realizes that who is really learning something is him. Tom is now able to see things through his pupils’ eyes, who never lived on Former Earth and lived so little on Artificial Earth.
