Official synopsis Publisher

SUGAR CREEK Traditions run as deeply in the North Georgia mountains as the roots of the massive old oaks growing in the area. Families on Sugar Creek, like the Barkleys, lived and worked together in order to survive the hardships of the 1930s and 1940s. Amos and Momma Barkley reared their three children on a rented farm and instilled in them the values of hard work and family. Their sons, Michael and Jesse, call upon all they’ve been taught and take very different paths in life. Their daughter, Ruth, will experience many tragedies; however, she never allows her faith to falter. December 7, 1941, will change everything. Michael, now a family man, finds himself ripped from his family and everything he values. Young Jesse discovers his calling as a soldier and is forced to quickly become a man. Through it all is a story of family and honor and how our faith and roots will guide us through just about anything.
