A treasure trove of entertainment!nnI have always loved this store! From the moment you step inside where they have displays of the most recent holiday books, you are immediately thrown into a Pandora’s box of amazement!nnNot only do they have every genre of book imaginable, they also have DVDs, vinyls, puzzles, vintage, and more!nnThey have a wonderful clearance section that I like to browse when I come in, including a wall of magazines in different genres. You can also find end caps with bags of Legos, shelf tops with board games, and other fun in between.nnI like to make a regular stop at least once every season when I am in the area, to see what they have done to give the store a refreshing new twist!nnA family owned chain that I will return to again and again!
They’re called “half price” books but they charge more than they sell for brand new in stores. I asked a few workers why they were trying to sell used book for more than what it costs full price, they had nothing to say. Very disappointed.
I went to Half Price Books in North Hills, I always find good buys here, but am glad they are moving their location next year!
I bought 21 albums and the prices were not comparable to other used record stores or online sites like discogs. If I pay $14 99 for a used record I expect it to be in good shape. Among other issues , the gatefold cover for The Long Run by The Eagles was stuck together. Ot had to be forcefully opened which ruined the sleeve. As a record collector that's very disappointing as the sleeve is just as valuable as the media. Also the girl who checked me out had zero personality and was just going to hand me 21 loose records. I asked her for a box so they wouldn't slide around in my car and she seemed bothered that she had to go look for one.
I donated my books to charity because of the amount they were going to give me for hundreds of books. I was insulted and asked if I could get just a little more in store credit that's when he raised his voice saying try to sell them online and see what you get. Very rude and if you need to get rid of some books please don't go to them!!!!!!!
