A Likely Story

I recently visited an event run by this bookstore.nWas very excited to see they had the blind date book selection (where a book is wrapped and you receive a surprise book based on the genre). I thought $15 for a used book was a little steep, but they did put a lot of effort into the presentation. When I unwrapped my book I was very disappointed to discover I received a book the was the seventh in a series. I would have to find and read six other books before I could read this one because it is not a standalone. When I made the owners aware they looked at me as if I was a problem. I love to support local businesses, but this one let me down. I didn't want my money back, just would have liked for them to show that they cared at all that I literally cannot read the book I just purchased from them. The situation was handled very poorly by ownership and I'm not really sure why.

A Likely Story is a cool locally-owned bookstore in charming downtown Midway, Kentucky. Woodford County is lucky to have such a place! They have a fantastic selection of books and are nice folks. Check them out!

ABSOLUTELY DELIGHTFUL!!! I found both popular books I’ve been wanting to find, and some treasures I did not know I wanted/needed until I saw them. I am so happy I stopped in. You will be too.

I took my girls by to shop for new books and had such a wonderful experience! Not only did we find a great book option, we painted pottery and found air dry clay and animal puzzles for later projects. Can’t speak highly enough of this lovely bookstore!
