Stepping into Timbuktu is like walking onto the set of a classic 90s film, an atmosphere steeped in knowledge, peace, and love. It's crucial that we invest our Black dollars within our own communities, just as we frequent larger chains. The shop's layout is meticulously curated, featuring imported goods from Ghana, Nigeria, and other African nations.nnThis establishment is a champion of Black-owned businesses, offering everything from toothpaste and deodorant to soap, herbs, spices, and even natural home cleaners – items you never knew you needed. The owner, Ali, is a remarkable individual, deeply committed to uplifting the community through his presence and work.nnHaving thrived for 22 years, his dedication to promoting Black love remains unwavering. My experience at this bookstore earns a solid 5.5 rating, and I wholeheartedly encourage everyone to visit.

It's all type knowledge here and good people with great conversations. It's has a family like barbershop feeling to it. You almost don't want to leave from the good informative conversations.

Correct hours need to be posted of this place. I went a couple of Sundays ago around 3pm and to my disappointment the business was closed. No lights on inside and the door was locked. The neon light that says 'open' was illuminated, but apparently it shows that every day. I probably would have given more stars if I could have shopped there because by looking through the window, they probably had what I needed. Online it shows the hours of Saturdays and Sundays until 7pm. If the owner can update this with the correct information that would be helpful.
