Official synopsis Publisher
A simple, visual guide to cultivating a personal practice of the Five Tibetan Rituals.
This book was written, and all the photographs taken, over a period of time when we were living on Green Ridge above the Palo Colorado watershed on the California coast. I moved there in1986 and Jesse in 2015. We poured all of our energy and creativity into making a verdant, unique and beautiful place to be. It was a haven and retreat for us and for all who came to visit.
On July 22nd, 2016 the Soberanes Fire roared through and, in a matter of hours, our house, studios, greenhouses, gardens – all that you see in the following pages – were destroyed.
In a heartbeat, MyT5 took on a whole new significance. The book was nearly ready to print and we had only the forward to write, which we were awaiting insight to complete. The Taoist principle of change has been made evident in undeniable ways, and now we are faced with a whole new set of life-puzzles. Our life, though entirely different as sort of refugees, has a few constants: Jesse does the T5 most mornings, albeit on a different roof, and the creativity flows in a slightly altered direction. We will build a new home, following the example of the plants and trees in our garden, which within a week had started to send up green shoots with astonishing vigor. Though it will not be the same lovely place it was, our home will be another lovely, nurturing, inspiring haven for all who come to be there. Through our efforts, the help of numerous friends and neighbors and the generosity of many people, a whole new, as yet unknown, place will be born and grow.
