There could not be two more different siblings than Teddy and Emma; as brother and sister, they are not even from the same piece of furniture never mind the same drawer. As their lives unfold and develop, the contrast is ever present with perhaps just the slightest hint of moral commentary by the end of the tale as hard work and clean living prevail over indulgence and immorality.Barrie Stacey’s A Ticket to Passion is a real bawdy romp as Teddy sleeps his way through most of the female community in their home town whilst working for a local estate agent. There is always just a feeling though that sooner or later, Teddy is going to get his comeuppance and the reader is never really quite sure from which direction this will arrive. Meanwhile, Emma’s life takes a different turn once her artistic ability is discovered demonstrating that goodness, and indeed talent, triumph over everything else. A Ticket to Passion is a saucy tale which will allow the reader’s imagination to range over whose life they really identify with and which character they might rather be.
