Absolutely the best comic book and art store in KC! I’m so happy I found this gem of a spot, and have somewhere to pick up literally anything I’m looking for. They have tons of comics from vintage to modern, trade paperbacks, and a wall full of slabs. There’s even custom artwork, jewelry, and handmade chain‑mail pieces that are amazing! What truly sets the shop apart, though, is the wonderfully friendly couple (Mike and Amanda) who treat every visitor like an old friend and make you feel so welcome as soon as you open the door. 10/10 favorite spot that every art and comic fan should check out for themselves.
Stopped by when in town. Extremely friendly staff, a nice layout for new books and old back issues. Plenty of back issues to run through, with the majority being more modern. The animation cels were cool to look at, and were tempting to purchase – but probably better I not start on those.
This is a fantastic comic book shop! It’s well-organized, easy to browse, and packed with an impressive selection — from new issues to slabs and everything in between.nnI especially love the local comics section — it’s always great to see stores supporting local artists and writers. There’s also a nice selection of animation art, comics, and books to explore.nnAmanda and Mike are super friendly and always happy to chat about comics and the latest news. This is the kind of place where you can hang out, relax, and just enjoy being surrounded by good people and comics!
Visited this spot briefly while in Kansas City. The shop is awesome as well as the owner. Didn’t have enough time to “dig” through the boxes but viewed some nice keys and a new collection. Next time I am in town will make some time to get back and spend a significant amount of time. Stop in the shop is orderly neat and a little eclectic!
I want to share my experience with this store, because Amanda and Mike have basically become my personal comic‑book sirens. I walk in intending to “just browse,” and suddenly Mike is hyping up books I didn’t even know existed, and now I’m holding a stack like I blacked out in the variant‑cover aisle.nThey’ve built a culture that makes comic fans feel like royalty—like if you walked in wearing a cape, they’d just nod respectfully. The experience is always top‑notch, whether you’re in the shop or watching them work their WhatNot magic like two extremely friendly wizards of retail.nAmanda and Mike don’t just run a comic shop. They run the top‑tier comic shop. My wallet fears them, but my heart is loyal.
