I absolutely love Charis!! Their passion for books and community truly shines through & it’s the kind of place where you feel welcome just for being there.nnI was most recently looking for a book that they didn't have in stock but they were able to order it for me and it got there in less than a week! The order and pickup process was seamless. They took care of everything & kept me updated along the way.nnI've also had the pleasure of working with their team in a professional manner and they have been nothing but amazing. Always a welcoming environment with a really good selection! The employees are wonderful and kind and the books are always really interesting. They also have a wonderful selection of book and activism related stickers. I love their diverse range and also all the books they have for younger audiences! Great place for gifts or just sitting and relaxing to read

This is the oldest independent feminist bookstore in the South, catering to unique children's books, feminist culture, and LGBTQ literature. Inside the store, you'll find two small sections dedicated to staff-recommended picks. I really enjoyed the selection and focus at this bookstore. It was broad and varied with a female/inclusive focus. They have a large selection of best sellers and staff picks, as well as more unique and obscure finds. The atmosphere felt quiet, and respectfully open.

100% hands down the best bookstore in the nation! friendly knowledgeable staff, great events (most of which are also live streamed!), and a staple in the Decatur/Atlanta community, it seems like so long ago now since they were in lil 5 pts and now they have this wonderful space with ample parking!
