We do not live on an easy planet. Everyone struggles to find their fit. Some of us more than most. For these unique individuals, life – from their first step to their very last – is too often characterized by uncertainty, obstacles, and erratic traction.

Such individuals are frequently branded as resistant, different, distracted, or even broken. Other descriptors as well, like lazy, troubled, or even mentally ill, can find a way into that mix. Those thus targeted are far too often inaccurately framed and even condemned by these misapplied labels.

Much like a burn victim quietly compelled to stretch scars, these extraordinary individuals face an existence riddled with invisible pain. It is intense and rarely noted by the comfortable. These prodigies of nature are rare – and contrary to their social tags, they are anything but dysfunctional. In fact, in a world filled with special people, they can be the most special.
