Official synopsis Publisher
Celibacy is one of the requirements for the Priests within the Catholic Church. Dwindling vocations causes the ‘powers that be’ in Rome to give this matter grave consideration. After numerous debates discussing the pros and cons of the situation the Hierarchy finally decided to revoke the law of celibacy to allow Priests within the organisation to marry. An Edict is forwarded to the Catholic Bishops around the world with regard to this decision.
They in turn pass the information on to the priests working under them. Many priests are pleased with this decision. Though now permitted to marry clerics hesitate to accept the change, prompting His Grace Roger Kelly Bishop of Limerick to have one of his priests set an example. He ‘suggests’ to one of his curates that he goes out and finds himself a wife. The Curate aware that a suggestion from the Bishop is tantamount to an order he is left with no option but to do as requested. Having had to deal with a prospective mother-in-law the Bishop begins to feel that he should have left good enough alone.
