Just got back from this bookstore. Stumbled up it while on a walk with my dog.nThe owner, Ned, was very friendly and told me my dog (a Great Pyrenees!) could come in.nThe book collection really ranges. Some new books – some Marylandian books – children’s books – history – humor – rare – you name it.nnIt’s the perfect place to go if you don’t yet know what book you’re looking to find.nn***if visiting after business hours you can text Ned (his number is on the door and it’s likely he’ll be able to get you in.
If you looking for your Narnia experience, go here. Station North Books is a treasure trove of literature and nostalgia. The smell of leather and paper will stimulate your senses. Books piled floor to ceiling, watch your step, elbows and turning around too fast! You'll meet Ned, he owns the place and is a delight to talk to. He'll take your picture for his instagram page when you support his business.
Best book store around. There used to be a lot of places like this in most cities, but unfortunately, most have shuttered. Piles and piles of cool stuff. But no need to be intimidated- Ned is there to guide!
What an absolute and true but somewhat hidden gem in Baltimore. It truly warmed my heart to see such a wonderful used bookstore still up and running. It has truly been a disheartening experience to watch so many independent book stores(ESPECIALLY used bookstores) close down over my adult life. We are living in a time where education and being educated is imperatIve and dealing with a massive banning of books and factual information on the internet. So supporting local and independent book stores as well as public libraries is imperative.nnI moved to the neighborhood and was very pleasantly surprised by Station North Books. I was walking my dog but curious as I know the hours are specific. I popped my head in to ask about the hours only to find out it’s VERY pet friendly. Also, they have a cat and I’m a sucker for a bookstore with a cat 😭.nnThe selection is both extensive AND eccentric, two of my favorite things. It’s truly a neighborhood gem
What a perfectly quintessential Baltimore spot! We loved browsing through the collection, and enjoyed chatting with the owner, Ned, even more. Any place that can encourage my husband to read more is a gem. I loved the collection, which includes first editions, Easton Press bindings, and signed work. A must-go for book lovers and collectors.
