One of the most memorable bookshops I have ever visited!!nnWhat I loved about Sidetrack Bookshop is the curated collection of books and bookish accessories.nnSidetrack is conveniently located in downtown Royal Oak with plenty of street and paid parking options. Sidetrack has a wide variety of literary offerings and a friendly, welcoming staff.

Sidetrack Bookshop in Royal Oak is a hidden gem for book lovers. The selection is incredibly well-curated, with a thoughtful mix of contemporary fiction, nonfiction, children's books, and local authors. It’s clear that the staff puts real care into choosing titles that cater to a wide range of readers while also spotlighting unique and lesser-known works. The atmosphere is cozy and welcoming, perfect for browsing or picking up a last-minute gift. Whether you're hunting for a bestseller or something off the beaten path, Sidetrack delivers every time.

My mom and I had the best time going to this store. We went for my 21 birthday and the kind ladies at checkout made my day by throwing some goodies in my bag when I wasn't looking. Such a pleasant and welcoming atmosphere to be in and a great selection. Loved the staff picks and awesome book marks and stickers. Definitely will be returning one day. Thank you for making my birthday special 🙂

4.5⭐️ (.5 missing because small spaces get packed quickly and can become difficult to navigate)nnI finally made time to stop into Sidetrack Bookstore. I found parking around the block on the street, though Royal Oak has PLENTY of parking garages as well.nnThe staff was very friendly and greeted me when I walked in!nnFirst impressions , we love a cute bookstore and it's clear the staff takes pride in decorations and displays. Book sections are clearly labeled by genre, countless staff recommendations cards throughout.nnI didn't buy any books in the main store, but they have a kid's store next door (The Caboose). This is such a clean and bright environment , and I would imagine I'd love it if I was a kid! Megan provided great and helpful recommendations for an upcoming baby shower, I'm sure my gift will be a hit!nn10/10 , would recommend again ! Found this place while trying to kill time before a lunch date with friends, and I’m so glad I did! It’s cozy, quaint, and has a fantastic selection of books and bookish accessories. Staff were super friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. I’ll absolutely be returning soon!
