Tucked away from the busyness of Ballard, this is a small, charming bookstore filled with old books. The front of the shop is especially inviting—it draws you in before you even step inside.nnI didn’t end up finding anything to take home, but browsing through the shelves was still fun. It’s the kind of place you pop into to slow down, wander, and enjoy the atmosphere as much as the books themselves.

Great selection and prices in a wide variety of genres and very knowledgeable staff that will help you find a book even if they don't have it on the shelves.nnIt's a book collectors dream. I got some great first editions, including a hardback first UK edition of Animal Farm with a dust jacket for only $25. They also have a great selection of art and antiques that are for sale. I got a framed news article about Ray Bradbury with his signature right below it for $50 as a gift to my sister who's mega fan of Bradbury.nnThe owner Nils is very friendly and has a great passion for books which is apparent in his backroom that's filled with very old collectible books from all over the world, including a Papal book written in Latin that was printed in 1593. It's like walking through a time machine!nnThere's no other book store in Seattle like it that I know of, so I'd definitely recommend anyone who likes books to check it out.nnThey also have a very sweet and adorable cat named Mochi, so if you're a cat lover it's even better.

Nestled in a quiet corner of Ballard, this little bookshop is a true hidden gem for book lovers. The moment you step inside, you're surrounded by shelves brimming with carefully curated used books, each carrying its own history and character. From rare finds to beloved classics, the selection feels both thoughtful and endlessly fascinating, as if every book has a story beyond just the words on its pages.nnWhat makes this shop truly special, though, is the owner. A lifelong book collector, he has an incredible passion for literature that shines through in every recommendation. His knowledge is deep, his enthusiasm contagious, and his stories about how certain books came into his collection make every visit a memorable one. Before opening the shop, he kept a selection of these books in his home library, and you can feel that personal touch in the way the store is arranged—like stepping into a private literary sanctuary.nnWhether you're searching for a specific title or just browsing, this bookshop is the kind of place where you can easily lose track of time, discovering treasures you never expected. It’s more than a bookstore—it’s an experience, a conversation, a warm escape into the world of words.

An interesting bookstore with a focus on rare and out of print. Might not be something for everyone here, but it's a fun browse with stuff you won't see elsewhere.
