Ujamaa Bookstore is a great place with a welcoming atmosphere and friendly, helpful staff. The environment feels warm, inviting, and community-centered, making it easy to relax and browse. Their selection of products is amazing, with unique items you don’t typically find in other stores. Highly recommend stopping by and supporting this wonderful local space!

A fantastic bookstore focused on Black authors and Black stories. The selection is incredible. Whatever you are looking for in your next read, Ujamaa has it. Ujamaa cares about the community in a way that many places in Indianapolis don’t. During the weekend I visited they not only had a mutual aid drop off, but they also had a Know Your Rights Event! It’s great to see a bookstore understand what the community wants and what the community needs and deliver on both. I highly, highly recommend.

Truly the best Black-owned bookstore in Indianapolis. It's amazing, every employee is helpful and kind, and great activities for families and kids. Gaming computers that are crazy fast so you can work or play in the store FREE of charge!!! Great place for meeting and having discussions, a great place for hosting events. I literally buy all my gifts from this store cause they sell more than just books. I could go on for days about how amazing this place really is.

I am so thankful because I was able to attend the grief and depression event that was held there I got to see the transformation of the old library as well as I got to get some cool and unique things.
