About This Book
This book has been designed for use in the PHI 240-Introduction to Ethics course within the North Carolina Community College System and is currently being used at Catawba Valley Community College in Hickory and Lenoir Community College in Kinston. Lessons 2-10 include a reading section and followed by notes that will go along with class discussion for synchronous courses or video lessons for asynchronous courses. Lessons 11-14, in the area of applied ethics, do not have readings within the book but current articles will be provided within the LMS. All lessons include a quiz related to the information from the reading and class discussion. Other course materials, including articles and homework questions will be placed withing the LMS. About The Author
Jeffry Kautz joined the faculty of Catawba Valley Community College in 2015 and is currently a full-time Associate Professor in the Humanities Department. He is also an adjunct instructor at Lenoir Community College. His current teaching responsibilities include courses in Ethics, Critical Thinking, Introduction to the New Testament, and World Religions. Professor Kautz has also published a textbook for the Ethics course and a text in the area of Critical Thinking. His passion for students is to see how his classes will fit into their pursuits and educational passions. He holds a Master of Divinity degree from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary in Ethics and Religion.
