Half Price Books

If I could give this buns store a 0 stars I would. I bright in 10 items, 8 manga and comic books, one Taylor Swift vinyl and CD. The cd and vinyl were completely new, unopened and in their original packaging. They gave me $19 dollars for all of my 10 items. I later saw them stock up the vinyl that I brought in for the price of $29.99 after I had signed and done the deal. They told me beforehand it was based on customer demand, so the 19 dollars made sense, books aren’t that popular nowadays anyways. To give me 19 dollars for books AND a vinyl that they themselves marked for 30 dollars is actually crazy. Can’t complain too much without mentioning I was the one who solidified the deal, I should’ve realized sooner and brought it up. They told me 19 dollars and I signed off on that, but that was before I saw them put the vinyl up for $30. But still, even THINKING to charge that low for an item they charge twice the price for its crazy. Go sell your good books online or any other place and make sure you double check how much they offer you.

Half priced books rules!! Best place in town and the east bay to buy books. Literally 2/3rds cheaper than anywhere else and they always have the best selection. We go at least once a week to get books for our daughter!

Half price books, double priced comics. Anything they put a price tag on is 25-75% above market value.nn/edit 2025. Now they are pricing 90% of books. $1 book? $3-7 sticker which always covers the issue number so you can't even check the issue. Such poorly handled comic section and its somehow getting worse and worse…. don't buy comics here and support this crap.nnI added a funny photo. Here is two of the same comic. One almost double the price of the other. And the double price book is in far worse condition. Just highlighting the ineptitude of whoever manages this section.

Many of the one-star reviews for Half Price Books mention terrible customer service, and unfortunately, I now understand why. I came in with my daughter to sell several bags of books, textbooks, and DVDs. The employee at the counter, a young woman with short dyed hair, was rude from the moment I said hello. Her dismissive and unprofessional attitude never let up, making the entire experience extremely frustrating and uncomfortable.nnI can understand that people have tough days, but there’s no excuse for treating customers this poorly. What should have been a simple transaction turned into such a negative encounter that I walked out rather than continue. This location was a complete nightmare, and I absolutely would not recommend it to anyone.
