About the Author Was born and raised in New Rochelle, New York. Writing her first “book” at age six, she has been writing ever since. An adult student, she graduated from The College of New Rochelle, School of New Resources in 1989 with a degree in the liberal arts. She earned a M.S. in Counseling, and a M.S. in Communication Arts, also from The College of New Rochelle. Employed by the college in various positions since 1987, she has been teaching there since 1991. Sleeping in the Sun is a compilation of stories written over many years. She has written for local newspapers, Positive Community magazine, and Quarterly Magazine, the alumnae/I magazine of The College of New Rochelle. From the age of 18, Judith lived in Pennsylvania, Florida and South Carolina, which she dearly loved, and which provided the fodder for the stories in Southern Exposure. Other stories reflect both her childhood, and later her experiences in New York. Her love of cats is evident throughout, as is her love of reading. “I’d probably have written much, much more if I didn’t love to read so much. My two loves are a serious case of conflict of interest. Shall I read or shall I write? Very often reading wins.” Wife, mother, stepmother and grandmother, family often takes precedence over other areas of her life, and happily so. Even so, a new work is in progress, and Judith looks forward to a more prolific writing career in the future. The author lives in New Rochelle, New York with her husband and two tuxedo cats, Sheba and Dude.
