The Taschen store at the Original Farmers Market in Los Angeles offers a unique blend of sophistication and accessibility, perfectly mirroring its vibrant surroundings. Nestled within this historic market, the store provides an authentic and immersive experience for art book enthusiasts, showcasing their iconic, oversized volumes on fashion, photography, and design amidst the bustling energy. It feels less like a traditional bookstore and more like a carefully curated pop-up gallery, making it a truly distinctive and inspiring stop for both locals and tourists seeking quality and authenticity in their literary pursuits.

Christmas eve and I came up with a great last…last… minute gift idea for tonight's family party…called and spoke with Peter who checked inventory and found the book I wanted….last one in stock….Quick purchase on the phone and Peter said it would be gift wrapped and waiting for me when I arrived….Peter called me back 1/2 hour later to remind me of the early holiday closing time (saved my butt from a wasted trip)….then Peter called back again to advise me of where I can park quick and easily with validation. If you've ever been to the Grove you know what a pain parking is when your in a hurry. Peter gave me top tier give a heck customer service not often experienced….especially on a hectic Christmas Eve….Thank you Peter!

Not only they weren’t smart enough to get enough amount of copies of their most popular book for Christmas shoppers (in both locations), but they also refused to wrap that exact Taschen book that I found at Barnes&Nobles. Merry Christmas. I used to be a regular shopper.

We stumbled upon this beautiful book shop at the Grove, and we felt like we were walking into an art gallery! The books were displayed well and there were great options to select from. All the staff was so kind and attentive, special thank you to Marques who made our experience extra special.

The experience my wife and I had here was not great and not horrible- probably more a 3.5 than a 3. It was frustrating but I’m not sure if it was truly anyone’s fault – at least not the store itself. We came here after calling to ask if the book we were buying as a birthday gift was in stock (it was!!) but as we walked into the store the employee there said he was about to close for a break but the store would reopen in 20 minutes. We were a bit annoyed because we just wanted to take the book and pay (it would have taken 2 minutes) but we get it – they need to take their breaks! We figured that’s a short enough time that we could wait and enjoy the free outdoor concert going on outside. 20 minutes go by (rather slow to be honest – concert was not that great lol) and the store is not open. Okay. That can happen. But the door sign says they will be back in 30. Okay so he got it wrong. That’s fine. 30 minutes go by and still not open. 45 minutes go by and someone finally shows up. A different employee I might add!! So they did a shift change with a 45 minute break (the second employee was late I assume?) and the second employee was carrying a bunch of books. The purchase took less than 2 minutes and we were pretty annoyed that we were waiting over 45 minutes for that. It’s a small store so the employee must have known it wouldn’t take long. But—all in all we kind of want to blame ourselves because we should have explained that to the employee and not been so polite. But the late employee and weird shift change set up should be fixed. Had we not urgently needed the book we would have ordered online and that’s what we will do in the future! So not too bad but not great either. Th
