Climax Books

I always want to love it but every time I go in I see the same lacklustre selection (mostly Japanese erotica for some reason?), on the tiniest bookshelf. Why does a bookstore only have one shelf? Merch is also really cute but only comes in a baby tee fit… I guess “sassy readers” only show their mid drift.

I stop by Climax every so often to browse through their ever-changing selection of rare and out of print books. It’s always such a pleasant experience as the staff here are so incredibly knowledgeable and friendly. Darcy is always helpful and has such great suggestions across all genres. I leave learning about a new subject, photographer, etc! Also love the way the store is designed with the metal and latex furnishings.

As soon as you walk in, you can feel the energy of the store. I couldn’t buy anything this time, but next time I come I’ll for sure leave some room in my luggage. Felt really inspired, definitely worth going!

the most knowledgable staff i’ve ever experienced in any context, so kind. helped me understand everything in store and gave deep background on every purchase and offered cool recommendations. beautiful store, amazing selection, fair prices, so much fun. truly so thankful this exists also i like the socks and bags
