A very fun music store in Philadelphia. I've found a lot of soul and RnB vinyl records at affordable prices, starting at $5 US. They offer a hugh selection of different genres and staff is friendly and helpful. This store is not located in downtown Philly but it is totally worth a visit if you are digging for vinyl around this area.
I just visited the Beautiful World Syndicate at 1619 Passyunk Avenue in Philadelphia, Pa. My daughter pointed it out to me. By some strange coincidence, there was an open parking spot right out front. My Daughter pointed out a record that she wants for Christmas. I also found some Blues records that will somehow find its way under the Christmas tree. A doppelgu00e4nger of a very young Jimmy Page was running the store, and he put up with my album covers I’d like to see while Jeremy and Zoe rolled their eyes, and actively looking for a rock to crawl under. Wonderful selection, reasonable prices along with a good selection of sealed records. My kind of place!
I recently inherited a jazz collection and brought around 150-200 records to this shop. The owner was really helpful — he took the time to go through them with me and explained how to evaluate record quality and spot the more valuable pressings. It was nice to actually learn something in the process.nnAs for what I got paid, I’m somewhat satisfied. I think I could have gotten more if I’d negotiated, and he seemed open to that. But I was in a bit of a rush, running late for an appointment, and honestly just wanted to clear the space. Those were my circumstances, not anything to do with the shop.nnWould I go back? Definitely.nnI still have around 2,800 records left to sell, and I’m planning to bring them here when I’m ready

Consistently good deals, inviting atmosphere & a constant flux of new titles make this spot the best our city has to offer. PS: peep this score of a lifetime 7” I nabbed recently there!
