Cork, with 1000 followers on a flight to the north, through the counties of Cork, Limerick, Tipperary, Galway, Roscommon, ending in the village of Leitrim, County Leitrim. They were fleeing from the English who had captured his territory in Beare and Bantry, County Cork. The author made the same journey in the winter of 1973.
