It is the oldest stone building in Laramie. At the beginning it served as a hotel for traveling cowboys and railroad workers and also as a depot for the Fort Collins and Walden stage line, and later on as a bus depot. The hotel had twenty-six rooms and a restaurant on the first floor. The original building had larger windows with cornices and lintels over them, and arches over the entrance. These architectural details have been lost to later remodeling, in late 1920s, when simpler lines were preferred for the front of the building.
