About the Author

Darren Coleman is a second grade teacher in Prince George’s County, Maryland. He is an alumnus of Bowie State University where he majored in elementary education and minored in communications.
Darren started writing by freelancing for the county newspaper. Although he enjoyed writing human-interest stories, his enjoyment of fellow authors prompted him to begin writing his own novel.
In addition to being a writer and schoolteacher, Darren is a professional barber of more than ten years. He still enjoys cutting the hair of his many loyal customers. He is also a little league football coach, and a music fanatic.
He is currently at work on his second novel, which will be out in the fall of 2003. He also is developing a television pilot with fellow author Patty Rice.
